SweetNight Dreamy Hybrid Mattress Firmness and Feel
SweetNight Dreamy Hybrid Mattress Firmness
At Mattress Nerd, we like to measure firmness on a scale of 1–10, where a 10 is like sleeping on bricks and a 1 is softer than a cloud. With this in mind, the SweetNight Dreamy Hybrid mattress comes in at a medium-firm 6/10. This firmness level is ideal for the average sleeper and back sleepers of all weights.
What Does the SweetNight Dreamy Hybrid Feel Like?
Since the Dreamy Hybrid (formerly known as the Dreamland) mattress’s firmness measures in at a 6/10, it isn’t the hardest or most solid bed out there. When lying down on the Dreamy Hybrid, the mattress top feels doughy and sinking, but still has enough support and lift from the layers below.
Because this bed has a hybrid design of memory foam and pocketed coils, you’ll feel lots of cushion without being swallowed by the mattress. That said, this bed’s foam comfort layer isn’t super responsive or bouncy. Lastly, when it comes to temperature, the top layer feels cool, which is a plus for memory foam, and its coil layer offers good airflow.
What Sleeping Position Is SweetNight Dreamy Hybrid Mattress Best For?
Body Type: | Back Sleepers | Stomach Sleepers | Side Sleepers |
Lightweight< 130 lbs: | 5 | 5 | 3 |
Average-weight130–230 lbs: | 5 | 5 | 3 |
Heavyweight> 230 lbs: | 4 | 3 | 3 |
1 = Very poor 2 = Not good 3 = Fair 4 = Good 5 = Excellent
Back Sleepers
The best mattresses for back sleepers support, well, the back. Specifically, back sleepers do best on beds that cradle their lower back and maintain the natural “S” curve of the spine. For the SweetNight Dreamy Hybrid, whether you’re a lightweight, average-weight, or heavyweight sleeper, you’ll get plenty of cushion from the memory foam comfort layer and enough firmness from the bed’s pocketed coils.
Side Sleepers
For side sleepers, it’s all about finding a bed that has pressure relief and distributes weight evenly amongst the hips and shoulders. Unfortunately, the SweetNight Dreamy Hybrid isn’t the best option for lightweight, average-weight, or heavyweight side sleepers. This is because the Dreamy Hybrid creates pressure build-ups, especially in the shoulder area.

Stomach Sleepers
The best mattresses for stomach sleepers do one thing really well: they keep your hips elevated and, as a result, your spine aligned. If you’re a lightweight or average-weight sleeper, the SweetNight Dreamy Hybrid has just the right level of firmness for stomach sleeping. However, if you’re a heavyweight sleeper, you might want to opt for a firmer mattress.
Combination Sleepers
Combination sleepers change positions throughout the night, so they need a bed that’s easy to move around on. While the Dreamy Hybrid’s hybrid design has lifting pocketed coils, the memory foam comfort layer on top will feel too slow and quicksand-like for most combination sleepers.

SweetNight Dreamy Hybrid Mattress Performance
Is the SweetNight Dreamy Hybrid Mattress Cooling?
Memory foam beds usually aren’t among the best cooling mattresses, but the SweetNight Dreamy Hybrid’s hybrid design keeps air flowing through its pocketed coils. Plus, even the top layers are cool to the touch.
Edge Support
If you like living on the edge and sleeping on the edge, it’s important to have a mattress that you can count on. Edge support is how well your bed can support you or your partner when sitting or lying near the sides of the bed (without sagging). For seniors, this extra support can be necessary for getting in and out of bed too.
That said, Dreamy Hybrid’s edge support is pretty lacking. With a memory foam top layer, this bed just isn’t super solid or durable.

Responsiveness
A responsive mattress will feel bouncy, lifting, and easy to move across. Since the SweetNight Dreamy Hybrid has a top comfort layer of foam, you’ll feel more of a doughy softness instead. However, this bed’s coil support layer does offer some bounce, giving this bed average responsiveness.
Motion Isolation: Is it good for those who share a bed?
If you plan on sharing your Dreamy Hybrid with a partner, then it’s worth noting that this mattress has outstanding motion isolation. This means that you won’t have to worry about waking up to tossing and turning, or accidentally waking your partner up by moving around.

Noise
Some beds with coils in their support layers can also have creaking and unwanted noise. And, unfortunately, the SweetNight Dreamy Hybrid is one of these beds. Sleepers who are easily woken up might want to double check before getting this mattress.
Pain Relief
Memory foam is one of the best materials for pain and pressure relief. And, since this bed’s comfort layer is foam, you won’t have any shortage of softness to worry about on the SweetNight Dreamy Hybrid.
Sex
A good checklist to see if a bed is one of the best mattresses for sex is noise, responsiveness, and cooling. Pretty much, you want to be able to move around while staying cool and quiet. In this case, the Dreamy Hybrid is only one for three. At the very least, you and your partner won’t overheat on this bed.
Off-Gassing
Off-gassing, AKA the “new mattress smell”, comes with many bed-in-a-box mattresses. While unboxing your Dreamy Hybrid, you’ll likely notice some odor, but nothing unusually strong. Also, this bed is CertiPUR-US-certified, so none of those smells are toxic.
Durability
This bed definitely has some red flags when it comes to durability. Firstly, the Dreamy Hybrid takes an unusually long time to expand to its full size after you unbox it. Also, this mattress’s edge support is pretty subpar. Although this bed is budget-friendly, you might be shopping for a new mattress again sooner than you’d expect.
SweetNight Dreamy Hybrid Mattress Construction: What’s it made of?
The Dreamy Hybrid mattress has a medium-firm hybrid construct consisting of a memory foam comfort layer, cooling foam below, and a support layer of pocketed coils. This all gives the bed a cooling and soft, but lifted feel.
Layer #1: Mattress Cover: The Dreamy Hybrid’s plush mattress cover is both cool to the touch and wicks away moisture and sweat.
Layer #2: Cooling Gel Memory Foam: Below the mattress cover is the Dreamy Hybrid’s memory foam comfort layer which is infused with cooling gel. This layer helps the entire mattress to stay cool, while it also offers pressure relief.
Layer #3: Pressure Relieving Foam: Next up is another layer of foam, like the memory foam above, this support layer absorbs pressure. Also, it provides Dreamy Hybrid’s excellent motion isolation.
Layer #4: Pocketed Coils: Since the SweetNight Dreamy Hybrid is a hybrid mattress, it also has a Zoned Support layer of pocketed coils. These coils improve the firmness and durability of the mattress, and they give the sleeper a lifted feeling. Also, because these coils are pocketed, this improves the bed’s motion isolation.
Layer #5: Essential Support Layer: Finally, at the bottom of this bed is the essential support layer. This layer of high-density foam absorbs weight and pressure from the bed above while supporting the pocketed coils.

Addressing SweetNight Dreamy Hybrid Mattress Complaints
Poor Edge Support
Several SweetNight Dreamy Hybrid mattress buyers have complained that the mattress has poor edge support, and some have even reported the bed totally collapsing on the sides. Furthermore, some buyers have also described the edge support being so bad that they had to sleep in the exact center of the mattress to get any firmness.
In the Nerd Lab, we also found that this bed has subpar edge support and a soft feel. That said, while our Dreamy Hybrid mattress didn’t collapse, we recommend any buyers with this issue to pursue their 10-year Limited Warranty.
Difficult Unboxing
A few Dreamy Hybrid buyers have also described the unboxing process as lengthy and difficult. Specifically, they mentioned that the mattress is on the heavier side, that it takes up to several days to fully expand, and that it comes with a noticeably strong off-gassing odor out of the box.
In our own experience, while unboxing the Dreamy Hybrid in the Nerd Lab, we did find that this mattress did not immediately expand and that it took longer than expected. Additionally, we also noticed some off-gassing although it wasn’t particularly strong.
