The Mattress Nerd’s Take: The Canadian-made Endy is an all-foam bed made with three layers of proprietary foam and polyfoam. Its balance of firmness, pressure relief and responsiveness will appeal to combination sleepers who enjoy switching sleeping positions throughout the night. It also has some cooling properties, making it a nice choice for people who typically sleep hot on foam mattresses. Ideal for shoppers on a budget, the Endy costs less than $1,000 USD in all sizes before discounts are applied.

Who is the Endy Mattress Best For?
Body Type: | BACK SLEEPERS | STOMACH SLEEPERS | SIDE SLEEPERS |
Lightweight (< 130 lbs): | 4 | 3 | 3 |
Average weight (130 – 230 lbs): | 4 | 3 | 2 |
Heavyweight (> 230 lbs): | 2 | 2 | 1 |
1 = Very poor, 2 = Not good, 3 = Fair, 4 = Good, 5 = Excellent
Back Sleepers
Back sleepers should experience gentle sinking into the top foam layer when they lie down. The Endo Foam in the comfort portion of the mattress provides some immediate comfort, especially around the lumbar region. Lightweight and average-weight back sleepers should feel a “just right” combination of support and pressure-point relief, but plus-size back sleepers may find their hips or shoulders sinking too much into the mattress.
Stomach Sleepers
Stomach sleepers need a mattress that supports the mid-section to prevent it from sinking, and lightweight and average-weight stomach sleepers may feel this initially on the Endy, but it doesn’t last throughout the night. Though the Endy creates a relatively even line along the spine at first, many strict stomach sleepers may find that it’s too soft for their liking. Plus-size stomach sleepers will definitely experience some sagging on this mattress and should select a firmer bed.
Side Sleepers
On your side, you may feel some pressure at the shoulders and hips on the Endy. This is especially true for plus-size sleepers, but lightweight and average-weight sleepers who don’t press as deeply into the bed’s layers may not experience serious discomfort. Regardless of your body type, the Endy’s top layers don’t allow for deep sinkage, which can be troublesome for strict side sleepers. However, if you switch between your side and another sleeping position, you may feel comfortable on this mattress.
Combination Sleepers
The cozy, bouncy feel of the Endy makes it especially appealing to combination sleepers, who need a versatile mattress that provides support and comfort in every sleeping position. The second layer of polyfoam in the Endy’s construction counteracts some of the sinkage of the top foam layers, giving the bed a bounce that makes it easier to change positions. You’ll never experience the dreaded “stuck” feeling, especially if you’re lightweight or average-weight.
How Does the Endy Mattress Feel?
Responsiveness, Bounce and Ease of Movement
The Endy mattress has a medium-firm feel that balances comfort and bounce. You’ll experience a sensation that’s somewhere between sleeping “on” and sleeping “in” the mattress; the top foam layer gives you a cradling feeling, but the polyfoam transitional layer is firm enough to prevent deep sinkage. If you’re looking for close body-conforming, you won’t find it in this mattress, but it is a bit bouncer than other all-foam beds, making it easier to move around on and get out of.
How Firm Is This Mattress?
The Endy’s firmness corresponds with a 6/10 on the firmness scale, or medium-firm. Plus-size sleepers will experience this bed softer as their body sinks deeper down, and lightweight sleepers may experience it slightly firmer. In terms of feel, the bed isn’t notably firm or soft, so if you enjoy beds that are squarely on either side of the spectrum, it probably isn’t right for you. Its body-conforming, yet responsive and supportive feel, should appeal to both combination sleepers and those who want a balanced sleeping surface that doesn’t sink too much.
Does It Sleep Hot?
The pressure-relieving comfort layer of the Endy mattress is a foam with an open-cell construction, and its low density makes it more breathable than higher-density foams and memory foam. However, like other all-foam mattresses, the Endy still absorbs a fair amount of heat. People who run a little warm or temperature neutral shouldn’t have trouble on the Endy, but if you struggle with sleeping hot, we recommend a hybrid or an innerspring bed instead.
Is the Endy Mattress Good For Couples?
The Endy isolates motion very well and makes hardly any noise when pressure is applied. It’s virtually silent when bearing weight because it has no noisy components, such as innersprings or coils. These features could make the Endy a good choice for couples.
How’s the Edge Support?
If you sit or sleep near the edges of the Endy, you may notice some sinkage, but it isn’t enough to give you the feeling of “rolling off” the mattress. Most all-foam mattresses have poor to fair edge support because foam layers don’t withstand compression very well. However, the Endy’s robust, high-density polyfoam base gives the bed slightly better perimeter reinforcement than other all-foam models at this price point.
Construction: What’s Under the Surface?
The Endy is a three-layer, all-foam bed with a removable, washable cover and a medium-firm feel. The top foam provides comfortable pressure relief, while the transitional and support foam layers press up against the comfort portion to prevent it from sinking while also providing support. The lack of coils at the bed’s support core makes it a poor choice for plus-size sleepers. Some lightweight sleepers and most average-weight sleepers will find support on the Endy, but that depends on their primary sleeping position. It’s a little too firm for strict side sleepers and a little too soft for strict stomach sleepers. Still, the density of the foam layers and bounce in the top layer make it just right for combination sleepers who need bounce and moderate comfort in all three positions.
Layer #1: Cover: The cover of the Endy is removable and machine-washable, making the mattress a good pick for the accident-prone and those who value easy cleaning. It’s made of knit polyester fabric and feels soft when you place your hand on it.
Layer #2: Endy Foam Comfort Layer: The top layer of the Endy is an open-cell proprietary comfort foam, Endy Foam, which is designed for cooling and pressure relief. It measures 2” and has a light bounce when compared to memory foam, giving the bed a comfortable yet responsive feeling.
Layer #3: Transition Layer: The 3” transition layer of high-density polyfoam prevents sleepers from sinking too deeply into the bed, unlike a traditional memory foam mattress. You’ll still sink into the top section of the mattress, but this transition layer curbs some of the deep sinkage that occurs in many all-foam beds and prevents a “stuck” feeling.
Layer #4: Support Layer: At the core of the Endy mattress is 5” of high-density polyfoam. This supports the layers above it, gives the bed durability and shape, and has a firm feel overall.

Comparing the Endy Mattress
Endy Mattress vs. Casper Mattress
The Endy bed and the Casper have a lot in common, including an all-foam construction, good support for various sleeping positions and cooling properties—they also have some differences. The Casper, which places a memory foam layer beneath a polyfoam layer, has slightly more contouring. Alternatively, the Endy has a memory-foam-like layer on top of a firmer layer, which curbs sleepers from sinking into the mattress.
As a result, we think side sleepers may enjoy the Casper slightly more than the Endy. However, the Endy has a little more bounce than the Casper. Thus, it may appeal more to combination sleepers who prioritize ease of movement and mobility.
The original mattress that made the brand famous, the Casper is known for suiting all sleep positions. Casper's Zoned Support feature is engineered to support the hips, shoulders, and back to keep the spine aligned. And at an affordable price point, this mattress is hard to beat.

Endy Mattress vs. Douglas Mattress
The Douglas mattress is another all-foam, bed-in-a-box sold by the Canadian company GoodMorning.com. Its top layer provides more contouring and pressure relief, making it a better pick for side sleepers than the Endy. It’s also a little less expensive than the Endy, making it an even better choice for shoppers on a budget.
The Douglas is an all-foam mattress with a medium-firm feel that suits back and side sleepers with lightweight or average-weight body types. The top layer is infused with temperature-regulating gel, and the transition layer is buoyant like latex.

Endy Mattress FAQs
Does the Endy Mattress sag?
Most lightweight and average-weight sleepers shouldn't experience sagging in any sleeping position on the Endy. However, stomach sleepers who are plus-size or who carry weight in their midsections may notice that the bed feels too soft around the torso, which can create low back pain.
How long will the Endy Mattress last?
The expected lifespan of the Endy Mattress is roughly six to seven years. The bed's high-density, firm base layer may allow it to last slightly longer than other all-foam mattresses at this price point.
What kind of foundation does the Endy Mattress need?
You can use the Endy Mattress with most bed frames, but it's best to pair it with a traditional box spring or place it directly on a slatted base. The box spring and slatted base work together to provide support while allowing the mattress to breathe. This foundation is great for hot sleepers because it helps wick away both body heat and moisture from the mattress for a refreshing night's sleep.
What’s the Bottom Line?
If you live in Canada, you’re on a budget and you’re in the market for a foam mattress, the Endy could be a good pick for you. It’s technically suitable for lightweight and average-weight sleepers in any sleeping position, but combination sleepers will find the bed’s light bounce especially appealing. We also recommend it for couples on a budget who wake easily to one another’s movements. The Endy isolates motion transfer and reduces noise exceptionally well to limit disturbances. If you are plus-size, prefer close body-conforming in a foam bed, sleep primarily on your side, or sleep very hot, you may be better off with an alternative.
