Brooklyn Bedding makes choosing between their Aurora mattress and Signature Hybrid mattress tough. That’s why we decided to take an in-depth look at what makes these beds better for some sleepers than others.
The Brooklyn Bedding Aurora Luxe is a luxury hybrid mattress with copper- and gel-infused foams that regulate the mattress temperature. The Brooklyn Bedding Signature Hybrid is a popular hybrid mattress with a combination of coil and foam layers that give it a balanced feel.
The Aurora Luxe and Signature Hybrid are offered in three different firmness levels—soft, medium, or firm—and we tested the medium version of both. Both mattresses are relatively cool, but the Aurora is better for hot sleepers thanks to a water-based cooling material in the top layer called TitanCool. The Signature is ideal for anyone looking for a quality mattress at an affordable price.

Choosing the right firmness level for your body’s specific needs is an important element for getting a good night’s sleep. When rating mattress firmness, we use a firmness scale from 1–10, with 1/10 being pillowy and cloud-like and 10/10 being hard as a wooden floor.
Both the Aurora Luxe and Signature Hybrid are available in three firmness options—soft, medium, and firm. The medium Brooklyn Bedding Aurora Luxe is around 6.5/10, while the medium Signature Hybrid is 6/10. The foam and coil combination gives both beds a balanced feel.

If you sleep with a partner, motion isolation should be an important consideration for you when shopping for a mattress. The better motion isolation a mattress has, the less likely you’ll feel your partner moving around the bed. The Brooklyn Signature Hybrid scored high in this department, but we found that the Brooklyn Bedding Aurora Luxe didn’t score as high.

Edge support is an important mattress feature because it affects how easy it is to get in and out of bed. Edge support also matters for couples who take up more surface area and need support from all areas of their mattress. Both the Aurora Luxe and Signature Hybrid tend to sag slightly when sitting along their perimeters, but we found that the Aurora Luxe does a slightly better job of maintaining edge support.
Finding a pressure-relieving mattress is important for shoppers who struggle with sensitive and achy joints. The Signature Hybrid and Aurora Luxe come with several layers of foam that enhance their pressure-relieving capabilities. In both beds, Brooklyn Bedding uses a special comfort foam called TitanFlex that helps to cushion your body weight.
The Aurora Luxe is also made with CopperFlex foam that provides more targeted relief for pressure points. Overall, the Signature Hybrid showed less pressure buildup during our pressure map test. We especially recommend it to back sleepers who struggle with back pain and are looking for pressure relief near the lower back.
When your spine is misaligned, it can lead to issues like migraines, disrupted sleep, and back pain. It’s important to find a contouring and supportive mattress for your specific body type.
Both the Brooklyn Signature Hybrid and Aurora Luxe do a decent job at maintaining spinal alignment throughout the night for back sleepers of all body types (lightweight, average-weight, and heavyweight). The Aurora Luxe will do a better job of keeping stomach sleepers’ spines aligned. Neither bed is great for side sleepers under 230 lbs, but should allow heavier side sleepers to sink deep enough to maintain spine alignment.
Brooklyn Bedding creates every mattress in their factory located in Phoenix, Arizona. This allows the company to have better control over mattress assembly, which is often key for crafting a durable product.
Overall, the Brooklyn Bedding Signature Hybrid is a relatively durable, supportive bed and a new mattress should last for about six to seven years before any signs of wear. The Brooklyn Bedding Aurora Luxe is estimated to last at least seven to ten years.
The Brooklyn Aurora Luxe is known for its cooling technology. The TitanCool material helps to keep your skin at an ideal sleeping temperature of 88 degrees. As such, the Aurora is one of the best cooling mattress options for hot sleepers.
Because the Brooklyn Signature Hybrid is a hybrid mattress, the coils at the bottom layer enhance airflow and allow body heat to evaporate through the entire mattress instead of remaining trapped near the body. We gave it a high score for temperature regulation, but not as high as the Aurora Luxe.

The Brooklyn Bedding Aurora Luxe has three different types of foam, giving the mattress a feel that’s cushioning, supportive, and cooling. The top layer of foam is infused with antimicrobial copper and the water-based TitanCool material that draws heat away from the body. The next layers are conforming TitanFlex foam and gel memory foam—both designed to help with pressure relief.
Following the foam layers is an 8” coil system made of individually wrapped “pocketed coils.” These coils create a slightly bouncier feel compared to all-foam mattresses. The coils also provide needed support to your body while you sleep. Finally, the Aurora Luxe’s last layer is base support foam which reinforces the coils and improves durability.

There’s no question that Brooklyn Bedding makes quality mattresses, so regardless of whether you choose the Aurora Luxe or the Signature Hybrid, you’ll have a great mattress. With that said, the Brooklyn Aurora Luxe is best for shoppers who want a luxury mattress that caters to hot sleepers.
If you’re looking for a responsive hybrid mattress that doesn’t break the bank, then the Brooklyn Signature Hybrid is for you. Both mattresses work well for back sleepers of all body types. The Aurora Luxe is firmer, so it’s better for stomach sleepers.
Heavyweight side sleepers could go either way, and side sleepers with light or average body types should opt for the soft version of the Signature Hybrid.
