Endy Hybrid Mattress Firmness and Feel
Endy Hybrid Mattress Firmness
At Mattress Nerd, we do mattress firmness on a simple scale of 1–10, with 1 being softer than air and a 10 being harder than rocks. With that in mind, the Endy Hybrid clocks in at a 6/10, which is a true medium firmness.
This level of firmness works well for the average sleeper and for most sleeping positions too. However, lightweight side sleepers may need even more softness, while heavier sleepers (especially stomach sleepers) may want to up the solidness a little more.
What Does the Endy Hybrid Feel Like?
Since this Endy mattress is a hybrid, you can expect to feel plenty of lift and bounce. The Endy Hybrid has a great balance of solidness and cushion, making it feel a bit like a hotel room bed.
In terms of temperature control, this mattress is plenty breathable, so you won’t have to worry about overheating on this cooling bed.
What Sleeping Position Is Endy Hybrid Mattress Best For?
Body Type: | Back Sleepers | Stomach Sleepers | Side Sleepers |
Lightweight< 130 lbs: | 5 | 5 | 3 |
Average-weight130–230 lbs: | 5 | 5 | 4 |
Heavyweight> 230 lbs: | 5 | 4 | 5 |
1 = Very poor 2 = Not good 3 = Fair 4 = Good 5 = Excellent
Back Sleepers
The best mattresses for back sleepers are supportive but soft where it counts, cushioning the back while maintaining the natural curvature of the spine. In this case, the Endy Hybrid is as good as it gets. Regardless of whether you’re a lightweight, average-weight, or heavyweight back sleeper, the Endy Hybrid is a great choice.
Side Sleepers
For side sleepers, it’s important to have pressure-relief on key areas like the shoulders and hips. To get this relief, sleepers need a bed that’s soft enough for them to “sink” into. And, heavier sleepers tend to need less softness.
With the Endy Hybrid, heavyweight side sleepers will get an ideal amount of pressure relief, while average-weight sleepers and lightweight sleepers especially will need more softness.

Stomach Sleepers
Next, the best mattresses for stomach sleepers are firm and lifted, preventing the hips from sinking down and through the back’s alignment off. For sleepers on the Endy Hybrid, lightweight and average-weight stomach sleepers will find this bed plenty firm, but heavyweight stomach sleepers may need a little more lift, depending on firmness preference.
Combination Sleepers
Combination sleepers aren’t like any other type of sleeper, because they’re also changing sleeping positions throughout the night. So, ease of movement is a must have. With the Endy Hybrid, lightweight, average-weight, and heavyweight combination sleepers can enjoy a responsive and lifted bed.

Endy Hybrid Mattress Performance
Is the Endy Hybrid Mattress Cooling?
Hybrid beds tend to be more breathable than foam beds, and the Endy Hybrid is no exception. With a breathable coil support layer, it’s one of the best cooling mattresses.
Edge Support
For seniors or couples who sit or lie on the perimeter of their bed, edge support can be a deal breaker. The Endy Hybrid mattress offers solid edge support, thanks to its steel coils, but has sagging at the very edges of the bed.

Responsiveness
Responsiveness is how well you can move across your bed or change positions on it. Like many hybrid beds, the Endy Hybrid is responsive and bouncy, making it a great choice for combination sleepers.
Motion Isolation: Is it good for those who share a bed?
Motion isolation is how well your mattress muffles unwanted movement, like your partner tossing and turning. Unfortunately, what the Endy Hybrid has in responsiveness, it lacks in motion isolation. So, if you or your partner is a light sleeper, the Endy Hybrid may not be the best choice.

Noise
A squeaky bed can be a serious annoyance, especially for light sleepers. However, the Endy Hybrid’s pocketed steel coils and absorbent foam are virtually silent.
Pain Relief
The Endy Hybrid balances relief with support for most types of sleepers, but lightweight side sleepers may find that this bed places too much pressure on their side. So, while this bed is a must-have for sleepers with back pain, it’s not the best for hip pain.

Sex
The Endy Hybrid is three for three on this one: quiet, cooling, and responsive. All in all, we’re rating this one of the best mattresses for sex.
Off-Gassing
Since the Endy Hybrid is a bed-in-a-box mattress, you can expect some off-gassing when you first unpackage the bed. However, Endy’s mattresses are CertiPUR-US-certified and don’t contain any harmful chemicals in their foam. Plus, any off-gassing should dissipate within a couple of days.
Durability
It doesn’t get much more durable than a hybrid bed built on pocketed steel coils and high-density foam. So, if you bring home the Endy Hybrid, you can expect to enjoy it for much longer than the average seven-year mattress lifespan.
Endy Hybrid Mattress Construction: What’s it made of?
The Endy Hybrid is made from several layers of breathable and contouring foam, a base layer of high-density foam, and lifting coils. Overall, this mattress stacks up to 13” tall, making it one of the denser, more supportive beds out there.
Quilted Cover: The top layer of the Endy Hybrid is a plush quilted mattress top that’s soft to the touch and gives the bed extra softness for side sleepers.
Comfort Foam: Below the soft cover is a layer of medium-firm foam that feels responsive and lifted. As a plus, this foam layer is open-celled, meaning there’s plenty of airflow and ventilation through it.
Transition Foam: Next up is a transition layer of foam between the other foam comfort layers and the pocketed steel coils below. This transition foam works by absorbing any movement and pressure from above, while keeping your body off of the coils.
Zoned Coil Support: The Endy Hybrid’s pocketed steel coils are quiet and durable; they work by contouring to your back while you move on the bed, while also keeping you lifted.
High-Density Base Foam: Finally, the whole mattress sits on a layer of dense foam that absorbs impact and stabilizes the entire bed above. For heavier sleepers, this also adds another layer of firmness and support.

Addressing Endy Hybrid Mattress Complaints
- Poor Side Sleeping—Some buyers of the Endy Hybrid mattress complained that they experienced pressure build-ups and discomfort while side sleeping. Although we found that this mattress was ideal for heavyweight side sleepers, lighter side sleepers may find the Endy Hybrid’s thicker and more lifted construction more difficult to sink down into. As a result, some lighter side sleepers may experience pressure on their hips and shoulders.
- Lack of Back Support—A couple buyers of the Endy Hybrid also expressed that the mattress lacked back support. However, we found that this mattress is actually one of the best mattresses for back sleepers. Plus, the Endy Hybrid is certified by the Canadian Chiropractic Association for its back pain relief.
